AI answering service for plumbers

The plumbing calls
you can't take

You're under a sink with both hands wet and the phone is ringing in the van. KeepRing answers on your line, asks the questions you wrote, and books the job into a slot that is actually open.

On the call

A plumbing call is mostly the same six questions.

Where is the water, what is it coming out of, how long has it been doing it, is the house occupied, what's the address, when can we come. KeepRing asks the ones you wrote, in the order you wrote them, on every call — the 6 PM one and the 3 AM one alike. A drain clear, a water heater, a repipe, a sewer camera: the services are yours, and so are the prices.

01

It answers on your line

You forward the number that's on the trucks. The assistant picks up there, opens with your greeting, and introduces itself as your shop's scheduling assistant.

02

It asks your questions

The intake is built per shop — your services, your wording, the things you want said and the things you want refused. Not a generic script with your name pasted on.

03

It knows where and when you work

Your service area, your travel radius, your excluded ZIP codes and your opening hours, including the ones that run past midnight. A caller outside your coverage is told your rule rather than quietly turned away.

04

It books, or it writes it down

A real open slot gets claimed on the spot. When booking isn't right, you get a structured message instead of "call this guy back".

Money

It quotes your prices.
Nothing you haven't priced.

Every service you offer is set up one of four ways, and the assistant reads from that and nothing else. A drain clear you priced at a flat rate gets quoted flat. A repair you bill by the hour gets quoted by the hour. Anything you left unpriced gets booked without a number attached, because inventing one is how a callback turns into an argument.

  • Fixed price — a flat number for the job, quoted as a flat number.
  • Hourly — the rate you charge, said out loud as a rate and not a total.
  • Base plus hourly — a call-out figure and a rate, quoted together.
  • Unpriced — booked, with the pricing conversation left to you.

Priced from your list, not a guess

After the call

You find out at the next stop, not the next morning.

A text with the whole intake

The job, the address, the callback number and the time that was booked, sent to you as a message — not a notification badge you find on Monday.

The recording and the transcript

Every call is recorded and transcribed and kept. When a customer says they were quoted something else, the call is there to check.

The job on your board

Bookings, messages, callers and calls land in your KeepRing dashboard, and the booking is yours to move, reprice or cancel like any other.

The alternative

A plumbing call that hits voicemail rarely calls back.

Voicemail

Rings out, then a beep

  • Four to six rings while someone stands in a wet kitchen
  • After hours, the caller waits until tomorrow — or doesn't
  • A name and a number, if you're lucky, and no address
  • No job type, no fixture, no idea how urgent it is
  • Somebody retypes it into the system, or nobody does

KeepRing

Answered, asked, booked

  • Picked up on your line at any hour, in your greeting
  • Your intake questions, asked the same way every time
  • Checked against your service area and your opening hours
  • Quoted from your own price list where you set one
  • Booked into a real slot, texted to you, recorded and transcribed

Setup

Three things, one afternoon.

Step 1

Tell it about the shop

Services and prices, opening hours, the areas you cover and the ones you don't, your greeting, and anything the assistant should never say.

Step 2

Forward your line

Keep the number. Forward everything, or only what you miss. Turn forwarding off and calls come straight back to you.

Step 3

Read the calls back

Every call is in the dashboard with its recording. Anything worded wrong is a change to your setup, and the next caller hears the fix.

Questions

What plumbers ask first

Does KeepRing need me to change my phone number?

No. The number on your trucks stays the number on your trucks. You forward your existing line to KeepRing and it answers there. Turn forwarding off any time and calls go straight back to you.

Will KeepRing quote a price for a plumbing job?

Only what you have priced. You set each service up as a fixed price, an hourly rate, or a base price plus an hourly rate, and the assistant quotes from that. A service you have not priced gets booked with no number attached to it.

What does KeepRing do when the caller is outside my service area?

You define coverage as named areas, a travel radius in miles, or excluded ZIP codes, and the assistant says that coverage rule out loud to a caller who falls outside it. It does not hang up on them and it does not refuse the job — the caller is told where you work and the request still reaches you, so the decision to drive out stays yours.

Can a caller reach a person instead of KeepRing?

Yes. A caller who asks for a human is warm-transferred to the number you nominate, rather than being talked in circles by something that won't admit it can't help.

Can KeepRing double-book two jobs into the same slot?

No. Availability is checked before a time is offered, and the slot is claimed atomically as the booking is written — so two callers on two lines can't take the same window.

How long does KeepRing take to set up?

About twenty minutes of questions — your services and prices, your hours, your service area, your greeting, and the things you want the assistant to say and refuse to say — then you forward your line.

Your website

The same shop, with a site to match.

KeepRing builds plumbing shops a website of their own — the same services, hours and service area the assistant already answers with. Two of them are below, and you can click through either one.

A one-person shop

Written the way a sole owner-operator talks — first person, no invented crew, no dispatch desk. Six jobs with what each one starts at, the neighbourhoods one van covers, and a page that says out loud which work he sends elsewhere.

Walk through the solo site (opens in a new tab)

A company with a crew

Eight plumbers in a city that freezes: figures on the front page, a week off the dispatch log, and the multifamily and after-hours cover a property manager checks before they put anyone on the list.

Walk through the company site (opens in a new tab)

They are samples. Both businesses are invented, so are the reviews, and neither number is a real line. The photographs stand in for your own job photos. Two different shops in two different cities rather than one site with a switch, because a plumber in Portland and a plumber in Minneapolis are not answering the same question.
